Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an Operating Room Nurse for an ambulatory surgery center. The role involves circulating or scrub duties, ensuring safe, high-quality nursing care, and coordinating instrument setup and patient transition between procedures.

Ideal candidates have an accredited nursing degree, 1+ year OR experience, current RN license, BCLS, and facility-specific ACLS/PALS as required. CNOR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS as required by facility.
• PALS is preferred, but may be required at some facilities.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrument and equipment setup for the OR, including preference cards and anticipating surgeon needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures.
• Use proper body mechanics to move patients to stretchers and OR tables.
• Manage patient care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia.
• Review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after procedures.
