Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and educate patients and families. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, safety, and collaborative care across units in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires an RN license, BSN progression, BLS/CPR, and at least 6 months of nursing experience or Nurse Residency participation. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Must have a current and valid Registered Nurse license to work at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
• Must have six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience OR must be an active participant with Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care as part of interdisciplinary team following evidence-based practices.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and outcomes.
• Communicate and coordinate plan of care with patient, family, and team.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Document care and events using Point-of-Care systems.
• Administer medications safely using bar-scanning.
• Support discharge planning and transition of care.
• Maintain competencies and certifications to meet accreditation.

Education

Associate in Nursing or Diploma of Nursing

BSN in progress or willing to acquire within 3 years

Current and valid RN license

BLS/CPR certification (AHA) within 60 days

6+ months nursing experience or Nurse Residency Program participant

Ability to learn quickly and work in a team
