Job summary

Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery is hiring an Operating Room Nurse (OR RN). The OR RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care of patients in the operating room. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the hospital's policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in the state.
• CPR and Advanced life support certifications required.
• One year experience in intra-operative setting.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
• Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the operating room.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, family, and team members.
• May have additional responsibilities as designated by OR Director, or Board Runner, including serving on committees and participating in quality improvement audits.

Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) at Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery

The Operating Room RN will assess, plans, implement, and evaluate care of patients in operating room. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Hospital. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by OR Director, or Board Runner, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in the state.
• CPR required
• Advanced life support certification required
• One-year experience required intra-operative setting.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
• Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
