Job summary

Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery is hiring an Operating Room Nurse to join a high-performing surgical team. The OR RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the operating room, ensuring safe, effective perioperative management in coordination with surgeons and staff.

Ideal candidates will hold a TN nursing license, have intra-operative experience, CPR and ALS certifications, and demonstrate leadership and teaching abilities.

Qualifications

• One-year experience in intra-operative setting.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching abilities.
• CPR required; Advanced life support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the operating room.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and other departments; participate in quality improvement activities.
• May serve on committees and lead or participate in audits and quality projects.

Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) at Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery

The Operating Room RN will assess, plans, implement, and evaluate care of patients in operating room. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Hospital. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by OR Director, or Board Runner, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in the state.
• CPR required
• Advanced life support certification required
• One-year experience required intra-operative setting.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
• Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
