Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse (Operating Room Scheduler) to coordinate and facilitate surgical care in collaboration with Surgery, Anesthesia, Nursing Service and other hospital services.

The RN OR Scheduler will manage the operating room scheduling process, maximize room utilization, and coordinate multiple phases of the Mastery Surgery Schedule daily, interfacing with SPS, Prosthetics, and other ancillary support departments.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in any US state or territory.
• Experience coordinating operating room scheduling across multiple services.
• Ability to collaborate with Surgery, Anesthesia, Nursing Service and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate surgical care across departments to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Manage operating room scheduling process, maximize room utilization and block time.
• Input scheduling data into the Surgical Software Package and make necessary changes.
• Serve as a resource to residents and fellows on OR scheduling policies and procedures.
• Act as patient advocate and respond to inquiries while coordinating with clinical staff.
