OR Team Leader
The OR Team Leader is responsible for supervising patient care within assigned service lines by applying the nursing process. This position demands clinical expertise and strong coordination abilities to effectively manage designated service lines. The Team Leader ensures continuous 24/24 coverage by acting as a resource and appointing an alternate Team Leader during absences.
Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities include collaborating with nursing staff and Certified Surgical Technologists, and serving as a liaison with physicians, anesthesia teams, clinics, and other relevant parties. The role oversees clinical operations, equipment, instruments, supplies, repairs, regulatory compliance, audits, staff training, and other tasks as assigned by the Clinical Staff Nurse Manager and OR Nursing Director. Approximately 80% of the role involves direct engagement in Operating Rooms (OR), with the remaining 20% dedicated to administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred
- At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse required
- Previous experience in a specific specialty area preferred
- Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider card required
- ACLS Certification required for the following areas; new graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment:
- All Critical Care
- Emergency Care Center (ECC)
- GI/Cath Laboratory
- Labor & Delivery
- All Intermediate Care
- Post Acute Care Unit (PACU)
