Job summary

HCA Florida JFK North Hospital is seeking a Charge Nurse RN in the Operating Room to lead nursing teams, coordinate OR patient care, and ensure high-quality outcomes. You will partner with management to optimize throughput, staffing, and staff development in a dynamic surgical environment.

The role requires OR circulation/scrub proficiency, Florida RN licensure, and at least one year of acute care OR experience, with certification readiness in BLS/ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or recognized Compact Licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Minimum of one year acute care hospital OR RN Experience in Operating Room.
• Charge Nurse experience.
• Ability to circulate and scrub.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high quality patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of quality of patient care in the unit, with management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork and improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Operationalizes nursing strategies to improve engagement, including hourly rounds and staff initiatives.
• Assists with interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommends actions for performance and policy compliance.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management per patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
