Operating Room Assistant II

Location: Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage, AK

Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, 40 hours per week

Job Purpose: Under supervision of a registered nurse and lead OR assist, the Operating Room Assistant II provides general support to nursing staff in the operating room to maintain a safe, hazard‑free, clean environment that facilitates patient‑focused care. Activities include handling equipment and supplies, cleaning and decontaminating operating rooms and equipment, transporting patients, and operating and performing routine maintenance on a variety of technical equipment used in the operating room.

Required Qualifications

• National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) upon hire.
• Internal candidates: Minimum 6 months OR Assistant experience and completion of an OR Assistant competency program.
• External candidates: Minimum 1 year experience as an OR Assistant or equivalent in a hospital‑based operating room.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
