Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK is seeking an Operating Room Assistant II for full-time, 1.0 FTE with a variable shift totaling 40 hours per week. The role provides general support to Nursing staff in the OR, maintains a safe, hazard-free environment, moves patients, and handles and maintains equipment under RN supervision.

Minimum qualifications include BLS at hire, OR Assistant experience with competency program, and 1 year of hospital OR experience.

Qualifications

• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 6 months Internal OR Assistant I candidates: Operating Room Assistant experience with completion of Operating Room Assistant competency program.
• 1 year External candidates: Experience as Operating Room Assistant or equivalent in a hospital based operating room.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, hazard-free, clean operating room environment and assist nursing staff.
• Transport patients and handle equipment and supplies.
• Assist with routine maintenance on a variety of technical equipment used in the operating room.
• Provide patient care support under the supervision of a RN and OR Lead.
