Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to support the unit director in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating nursing services across assigned shifts. The ANM uses the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities and to provide managerial presence for all shifts.

The ANM will collaborate with leadership to sustain patient-focused care and a culture of respect, empowerment, and teamwork across the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and graduation from School of Nursing (BS or BSN).
• Alaska RN license upon hire.
• BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager who utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within assigned shift. The ANM is responsible for supporting the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit and providing managerial presence for all shifts.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and Graduate from School of nursing (BS or BSN). Registered Nurses employed in this role prior to November 1, 2024 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
• Upon hire: Alaska Registered Nurse License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
• Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
• Leadership experience.
• Shared Governance experience.
