Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Operating Room Surgical Aide to support patient transport and safety in the Newton-Wellesley Hospital OR environment. You will work under RN, Pod Leader, and OR Charge Nurse supervision to prepare equipment and assist with patient care.

The role emphasizes efficient communication, adherence to isolation precautions, and maintaining stock and cleanliness in the OR and related areas. CPR trained personnel are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR training required.
• Ability to communicate effectively; verbal and non-verbal communication important.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room.
• Assist nursing staff in patient care as directed.
• Support limbs during surgical prep and shave prep of the patient.
• Maintain inventory and cleanliness in the Operating Room and CSR/Soiled areas.
• Deliver specimens and blood products to Laboratory or Radiology as directed.
• Ensure sterile field and asepsis in all tasks.
• Collaborate with Circulating nurse and Surgical Technologist to set up for procedures.
