Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced OpenText ALM Octane Engineer to administer and optimize enterprise ALM environments in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on workspace management, releases, pipelines, and API-based automation.

You will collaborate with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure scalable ALM processes, strong release visibility, and smooth Jira synchronization. A strong foundation in ALM Octane and scripting is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with OpenText ALM Octane administration and configuration.
• Experience managing Octane workspaces, users, teams, roles, permissions, workflows, and shared settings.
• Experience configuring releases, milestones, pipelines, backlogs, defects, tests, and quality processes.
• Strong knowledge of ALM Octane REST APIs and API authentication methods.
• Experience developing scripts or automation using Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or similar.
• Hands-on experience integrating Octane with Jira or other enterprise work-management platforms.
• Experience migrating data from legacy ALM/Quality Center environments to OpenText ALM Octane.

Responsibilities

• Administer and configure OpenText ALM Octane environments, workspaces, teams, users, roles, permissions, and shared settings.
• Design and maintain workspace structures, products, teams, custom fields, workflows, and dashboards.
• Configure releases, milestones, pipelines, backlogs, defects, tests, and quality processes.
• Establish and maintain release-management processes within Octane.
• Configure and support Octane pipelines, deployment automation, and integrations with CI/CD tools.
• Develop and maintain API-based automation for data synchronization and reporting.
• Integrate Octane with Jira and support synchronization of requirements and defects.
• Plan and execute migration of legacy ALM data to OpenText ALM Octane.
