Job summary
Susquehanna International Group, LLP is seeking a Virtualization Engineer to design and build scalable infrastructure for trading platforms on OpenStack. You will collaborate with infrastructure engineers and developers to automate deployments with Python and Bash, and enhance monitoring for capacity planning.
The role focuses on optimizing virtualization environments, tuning network stacks for latency, and creating a next-generation VM platform to replace legacy VMware at scale.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 1-5 years of progressive Linux-based platform experience at scale.
- Familiarity with kernel-level I/O tweaks and tools (sysctl, strace, tcpdump, netstat).
- Hands-on automation experience in Python, required.
- Experience with open-source virtualization (OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift, kubevirt) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Automate and evolve our library of home-grown tools for bare-metal and VM deployments.
- Tune virtualization environments and network stacks for throughput and latency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design scalable OpenStack solutions.
- Design and implement the next-generation VM platform to replace our 18000 guest VMware environment.
- Monitor cluster capacity and develop monitoring and capacity planning utilities.
