Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Software in San Jose, CA to design and lead OpenBMC-based platform management for high-performance networking platforms. You will drive firmware development, enablement on Yocto and U-Boot, and work with hardware teams during bring-up.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross-functional reviews, and contribute to security, testing and firmware update flows. Excellent communication and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing OpenBMC or comparable firmware.
• Experience with OpenBMC ecosystem: Yocto/BitBake, U-Boot, Linux kernel, and device tree.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python; basic shell and Git knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of OpenBMC-based platform management. Plan projects and schedules.
• Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers; act as go-to expert in OpenBMC.
• Own platform enablement on the OpenBMC stack including Yocto, U-Boot, and kernel porting.
• Develop and maintain remote management interfaces using Redfish; support SSH debugging.
