Job summary

The City of El Paso Texas is seeking a qualified professional to plan and administer open space, trails, and parks programs and projects. The role involves analyzing conditions, coordinating with agencies, and managing capital funds and grants to support park acquisitions and improvements.

Under general supervision, you will supervise personnel and volunteers, ensure compliance, and drive initiatives aligned with master plan goals and strategic programs for city open space and recreation assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in parks and recreation, public administration, planning, architecture or urban design.
• Two (2) years of professional administrative experience, including one (1) year open space, trail, park and/or natural resource conservation implementation experience.
• Valid Texas Class "C" driver's license or equivalent from another state.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer open space, trails, and parks programs and projects.
• Analyze open space, trail, and park conditions and develop projects to attain master plan goals and strategic initiatives.
• Interact with public and private agencies to elicit support and coordinate project and program implementation.
• Administer capital funds and grants for open space, trails and park acquisition and improvements, as assigned.
• Supervise assigned personnel, including volunteers.
