Job Location: Department of Public and International Affairs

The School of Public and International Affairs at North Carolina State University houses the Department of Public Administration and the Department of Political Science, offering various programs including the Master of International Studies.

The Department of Political Science has over 600 majors and offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, with concentrations in American Politics, International Politics, Law and Justice, and Public Policy.

The School of Public and International Affairs, Department of Political Science, is accepting applications for the position of Professional Faculty to teach courses in American Politics at the undergraduate level. Responsibilities include coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities.

The selected individual will be hired as a Teaching Assistant Professor or Lecturer, depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Lecturer: Master’s degree in related discipline, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience is required. If teaching graduate level courses, a Doctor’s Degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Assistant Teaching Professor: Doctor’s Degree in related discipline, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience is required. Ability to direct activities and participate in departmental activities.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications
  • Candidates should hold a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in Political Science at the college level.
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence.

Required License(s) or Certification(s): Valid NC Driver's License required.
