Job summary

USA Rare Earth LLC is seeking a Shift Supervisor for its open-pit mining operations in Sierra Blanca, Texas. The role oversees site personnel and contractors, driving production, safety, and cost targets with a strong focus on MSHA compliance and hazard prevention.

The position requires coordinating with the HSE team, managing pre-shift meetings and handovers, and maintaining accurate production and cost reporting. A 24/7 rotation and field leadership are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in open-pit mining or large-scale earthmoving operations.
• Experience supervising bulldozers, excavators, articulated trucks, and haul trucks.
• MSHA certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and tracking production.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor performance against production targets, excavation quality, and schedule compliance using KPIs.
• Supervise site personnel and contractors in daily excavation, haulage, and face preparation activities.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, communicate daily priorities and hazards, and provide shift handovers.
• Track daily production against the mine plan and report deviations to the Foreman.
• Track actual costs and schedule progress against budget and plan, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor OpEx per tonne and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising safety or production.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure equipment availability and operation.
• Document incidents, inspections, and production progress.
