Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Cortez operations to support open pit drilling and shovel maintenance. The role centers on routine shop and equipment maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and uptime of large mining fleets.

The ideal candidate has basic mechanical knowledge, can lift 50 lbs, and maintains a strong safety record, with flexibility to work rotating night and day shifts in a dynamic, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years maintenance experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics required
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform strenuous physical labor
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work a rotating schedule of nights and days

Responsibilities

• Complete routine maintenance activities to ensure availability and safe functioning of large mining and support equipment fleets
• Maintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean, safe work environment
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections and participate in hazard identification processes
• Perform other duties as assigned
