Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Goldstrike Surface Maintenance department in Nevada. This role reports to an Open Pit Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on keeping large mining fleets available and safe through routine maintenance.

The job requires basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics, with an emphasis on safe work practices, effective communication, and the ability to perform physical labor under various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required.
• Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision required.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required.
• Experience handling tires preferred.
• Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleets.
• Maintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
