Job summary

Careermine is seeking an Open Pit Drill & Shovel Technician to support Nevada Gold Mines in Carlin, NV. The role focuses on diagnosing hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and performing preventative maintenance with a strong emphasis on safety.

You will mentor junior technicians, log work in SAP, and collaborate with planning, operations, and warehouse teams to keep shovel and drill uptime high. Training and career progression are available across NGM sites.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on mining equipment.
• Interpret OEM manuals, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and bulletins to guide repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures on hydraulic, electric, and mechanical systems of large mining equipment preferred
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance required
• Support and mentor lower-level technicians in repair procedures, safety practices, and proper use of service documentation
• Maintain accurate work orders in SAP including parts requests, labor entry, and task notes preferred
• Operate service equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, overhead cranes, and lube/fuel trucks safely and in compliance with site policies preferredCollaborate effectively with planning, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure jobs are completed on schedule with minimal rework or delay required
• Uphold a strong culture of safety by participating in FLRAs, pre-task meetings, and field-level audits; promote safe work practices among the team required
• Assist with implementation of maintenance strategies and continuous improvement efforts related to shovel and drill availability required
