Job summary

Carle Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons and assist in operative and invasive procedures. You will prepare instrumentation, maintain the sterile field, and scrub or assist as needed for a wide range of cases.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 3 months.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or certificate in Surgical Technology.
• 1+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to induction.
• Set up case so back table and mayo are organized and ready.
• Maintain appropriate “have available” items and use resources wisely.
• Keep motions fluent and avoid redundancy during cases.
• Allocate time for diverse case types within acceptable ranges.
• Collaborate with the surgeon pre-case and adjust as needed.
• Scrub on simple to complex procedures and run mayo independently when needed.
• Anticipate intraoperative needs and prepare for changes in case type.
• Communicate effectively with the team; support anesthesia and circulating staff.
• Assist with case closing, dressing, transfer, and turnover.
