Job summary

Duke University is seeking a Learning Technology Engineer for the Open Academy on the DEATS team within Duke OIT. You will help shape the digital learning experience for faculty, students, and academic partners across the university.

You will support Open Academy, collaborate with faculty and developers, and drive continuous improvement with user feedback and metrics. The role offers up to 80% remote work in a hybrid arrangement and is part-time, one-year, term-limited.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot technology issues and partner with users, stakeholders, and vendors to resolve problems.
• Manage multiple priorities while delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience understanding instructional design and higher education contexts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional leadership, technical support, and user engagement for the Open Academy Platform.
• Liaise with platform developers to support enhancements, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Consult with faculty to identify effective ways to incorporate Open Academy into courses and programs.
• Analyze user feedback, usage trends, and performance metrics to improve services.
• Support teaching and learning initiatives by partnering with faculty on innovative uses of the platform.
• Develop and maintain training materials, online resources, documentation, workshops, and webinars.
