Job summary

ewi is seeking a Wind Construction Manager to lead on-site construction and turbine installation for a large onshore wind project in Colorado or Illinois. You will manage construction crews, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on site.

The role requires 5+ years in wind farm construction or renewable energy projects, hands-on leadership, and strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in wind farm construction, turbine installation, or renewable energy projects.
• Experience leading construction teams and coordinating multiple subcontractors.
• On-site full-time work in Illinois.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily wind farm construction and turbine installation activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors, installation crews, crane operators, and logistics providers.
• Ensure activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Monitor schedules, milestones, and installation progress.
• Oversee turbine component deliveries, storage, pre-assembly, and installation activities.
• Coordinate heavy lifting operations, crane mobilisation, and site logistics.
• Lead daily construction meetings and progress reviews.
• Identify and resolve construction challenges, delays, and technical issues.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, QA/QC, and commissioning teams.
• Maintain construction records and project documentation.
• Support handover activities and ensure schedules and budgets are met.
