Job summary

SQA Services in the United States is seeking a detail-oriented Welding Inspector to ensure quality and compliance of welded components. The role is on-site, 5 days a week, 1:30pm–10pm, on a 1-year contract.

You will perform VT inspections per AWS D1.1, review WPS and weld symbols, verify weld size and workmanship, and prepare inspection reports. Applicants should have a HS diploma, welding inspection training, and 3–5 years of structural welding experience; CWI preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training in welding inspection preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of structural welding inspection experience preferred.
• Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection (VT) of structural welds per AWS D1.1 acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate weld workmanship and surface condition.
• Verify weld profiles, weld size and contour requirements.
• Inspect fillet welds, groove welds, CJP and PJP welds.
• Review and verify WPS documentation and welder qualifications.
• In-process and final inspections including fit-up and cleanliness.
• Generate inspection reports and nonconformance documentation.
• Coordinate with NDE personnel when required.
• Support supplier quality evaluations and audits.
