Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the construction phase of wastewater treatment plant projects. You will serve as on-site representative, oversee contractor performance, manage execution, and ensure safety, schedule, budget, and quality compliance.

You will collaborate with owners, engineers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and Jacobs teams to deliver critical water infrastructure that improves communities. Onsite travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of construction management on municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Experience managing wastewater treatment facilities construction.
• Knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, quality management, safety.
• Ability to read engineering plans and specs.
• Experience leading project meetings and coordinating stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Jacobs field representative for wastewater construction projects.
• Lead daily construction activities for upgrades to new plant work.
• Monitor contractor performance for specs, permits, safety, and contracts.
• Facilitate meetings and coordination with clients, contractors, utilities.
• Manage construction schedules and milestone progress.
• Resolve RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, and field issues.
• Coordinate with operations to minimize disruptions to treatment.
• Oversee QA/QC, inspections, testing, commissioning, startup support.
• Maintain project docs, field reports, minutes, and payment reviews.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Promote safety culture and site health requirements.
• Support closeout, punch lists, turnover to operations.
