ManpowerGroup's client in Auburn Hills seeks an Automotive Warranty Failure Analysis Engineer to lead detailed warranty investigations and root cause analysis across powertrain and vehicle subsystems.

You will apply 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, and fault tree methods, collaborate with design, supplier quality, manufacturing, and service teams, and deliver reports and corrective actions to reduce warranty costs and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 5–10 years in automotive warranty analysis or failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and engineering concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, material specs, tolerances, and validation reports.
• Strong analytical and technical documentation skills with warranty databases/tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed warranty part analysis and root cause investigations.
• Apply structured methods (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, fault tree analysis).
• Analyze failed components across powertrain and vehicle subsystems.
• Support component disposition through teardown analysis and containment actions.
• Collaborate with design, supplier quality, manufacturing and service teams to drive corrective actions.
