Job summary

AstraZeneca's Frederick site seeks a Supervisor / Senior Supervisor for the day shift to oversee the safe, reliable operation of facility and utility systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong planning, coordination, and the ability to mentor junior technicians across HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and related systems, coordinating with contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maryland Stationary Engineer license or ability to meet site requirements.
• Experience operating or supporting industrial utility systems, boilers, HVAC, or central plant equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment manuals, SOPs, and technical procedures.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in variable environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and support facility and utility systems to ensure safe, compliant operation.
• Perform inspections of mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and related equipment.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Lead and coordinate work of non-exempt employees, planning daily activities and priorities.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal departments for maintenance, repairs, shutdowns, and investigations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment like HVAC, chillers, refrigeration, pumps, switches, and power distribution.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance and ensure timely GMP/GxP documentation.
