Job summary

Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Trail Systems Supervisor to sustain and develop over 40 miles of trails on 1,300 acres. This on-site, full-time role reports to the Facilities Manager and requires leading a 3-5 person crew, coordinating projects, and maintaining drainage and trail features.

Qualifications

• Experience in trail maintenance and conservation.
• Experience managing trail building teams of 3-5 employees.
• Proficiency with a variety of trade tools and powered machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and operating manuals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during events.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of trail maintenance and construction as assigned.
• Schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead projects and crews.
• Motivate and develop a team of 3-5 members.
• Support the hiring process and onboarding of new employees.
• Manage and prioritize assigned work orders.
• Work with Facilities Administrator on daily tasks.
• Lead development of new mixed-use trail segments and rehab existing trails.
• Inspect and maintain drainage systems, bridges, and man-made features.
• Ensure safety, quality, and policy compliance across projects.
• Assist Race Manager and Events Team with trail races and events.
