Job summary

Mecklenburg County Government in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Maintenance & Operations Specialist to join the Greenway Team. This role leads a Greenway crew across Central and North Regions, performing brush clearing, erosion control, tree work, and related carpentry tasks to maintain safe, presentable trails and amenities.

The position runs daytime hours on weekdays with weekend duties as needed; candidates should bring several years of maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of specialized maintenance experience directly related to the area of assignment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License; depending on area may require Class A or B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex maintenance, repair, remodeling and renovation of various buildings, facilities and equipment.
• Train or supervise other staff in operation or maintenance of equipment.
• Coordinate work with sub-contractors and review materials and workmanship.
• Estimate time, materials, and costs for repair work.
• Maintain records and prepare reports for completed projects.
• Communicate with staff and citizens regarding maintenance needs.
