Job summary

DTN is seeking a Terminal Automation Specialist to join the Energy & Refined Fuels team in Plano, TX. The role provides on-site technical product support, installation, diagnostics, and repair for Guardian3 customers at on-site facilities.

Travel to remote sites in hazardous environments is required, with training for hazardous conditions. You will work with senior technicians to deploy software, resolve network issues, and assist with training and after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Oracle Database including installation and management.
• SQL for relational databases.
• Experience in petroleum industry, bulk terminal operations, and data management applications.
• Understanding of PLC and flow computer protocols.
• Learn proprietary communication languages (ModBusTCP, CCM2, FMC Smith, Optomux).
• Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, serial communications, and machine automation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy Guardian3 terminal automation at remote facilities, travel as needed, complete hazardous environment training.
• Collaborate with senior technicians to prepare for software deployment, evaluate current system, configure new system.
• Resolve control process network issues with planning, testing and troubleshooting.
• Test and evaluate new system releases before site deployment per manager's test cases.
• Assist with onsite and remote training for users of varying software proficiency.
• Provide direct customer phone support for automation software configuration and operation.
• Offer after-hours support on a rotational basis.
• Troubleshoot, document and track software issues for immediate needs and for design feedback.
• Support installation and upgrade projects.
