Job summary

DTN is seeking a Terminal Automation Specialist to join the Energy & Refined Fuels customer experience team in Plano, TX. This on-site role provides installation, diagnostics, and repair for Guardian3 terminal automation systems at customer facilities, including training and direct phone support.

You will work with senior technicians to deploy software, troubleshoot network issues, and ensure safe, compliant terminal operations while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Oracle Database and SQL.
• Experience in the petroleum industry and terminal operations.
• Understanding of PLC and flow computer protocols.
• Ability to learn proprietary languages such as ModBusTCP, CCM2, FMC Smith, and Optomux.
• Strong TCP/IP networking and machine automation knowledge.
• Awareness of risks distributing products in hazardous locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in deployment of DTN Guardian3 at remote customer facilities with travel as needed.
• Collaborate with senior technicians to prepare software deployments and configurations.
• Resolve control process network issues with planning, testing and troubleshooting.
• Test and evaluate new system releases before site deployment.
• Assist with onsite and remote training for users of varying software proficiency.
• Provide direct customer phone support for automation software configuration and operation.
• Offer after-hours support on a rotational basis.
• Troubleshoot, document and track software issues for customer needs and design feedback.
• Support installation and upgrade projects.
