Job summary

Modern IT in La Verne, CA seeks an experienced IT Benchmarking Specialist to align client infrastructure with best-practice standards. You will benchmark LAN/WAN, lead service-day meetings, and deliver documented risk-based recommendations. Strong documentation and client-facing communication are essential, with on-site visits and weekend on-call rotations.

The role emphasizes proactive benchmarking, SOP development, and collaboration with the vCIO and Technology Alignment teams.

Qualifications

• 5+years hands-on infrastructure experience in MSP or equivalent environment.
• Ability to benchmark systems and translate findings into client-facing risk/value.
• Strong documentation skills: SOPs, checklists, technical library kept current.
• Professional client communication; onsite meetings and reliable transportation for visits.
• A hands-on benchmarking gate showing findings converted to documented risk and recommendation.
• Based near or able to commute to La Verne, CA for 8am–5pm PST hours.
• On-call weekend rotation across local/hybrid employees.

Responsibilities

• Benchmarking & scorecards: Review LAN/WAN and configurations against MSP/industry standards.
• Scheduled Service Day: run BDOS/EDOS client meetings and deliver the Service Day Deliverable.
• Close misalignments to reduce reactive work; push tickets per endpoint and resolution time down.
• Documentation & SOPs: build and maintain client documentation library and SOPs.
• Contribute benchmarks to Standards Committee and evolve the standards library.
• Surface project opportunities from findings and feed vCIO preflight and TBR processes.
