Job summary

Crystal Stairs, Inc. seeks a Technical Writer in Los Angeles, CA to develop, revise, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, workflows, forms, and job aids for the Stage One department.

This onsite role translates complex regulatory and program information into practical guidance for staff and end users. You will collaborate with program management, trainers, IT, and QA to ensure accurate, user-friendly documentation and updated processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related technical writing work experience may be substituted for college level education.
• Minimum of four years of professional experience in technical writing, including creating, rewriting, and editing copy.
• Knowledge of technical writing principles, plain language, editing, proofreading, information design, and document lifecycle management.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, organization, business process analysis, problem solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to express complex regulatory, operational, and technical concepts clearly in writing, verbally, and visually.
• Ability to interview SMEs, evaluate sources, reconcile feedback, and identify missing or conflicting information.
• Ability to write for different audiences and direct content to reader knowledge level.
• Ability to learn software products and document system functionality, user steps, decisions, and exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal documentation partner to Stage One Program Management and cross-functional teams.
• Translate policy interpretations, contract requirements, and system functionality into clear procedures.
• Collaborate with Technical Trainer and Program Trainer to develop and maintain SOPs and training resources.
• Create workflows, desk guides, job aids, checklists, forms instructions, and reference materials.
• Maintain document inventories, version control, revision histories, and archives for controlled docs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
