Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking an entry-level Assistant Technical Writer to join our Engineering team in Spokane Valley. You will draft, edit and format technical documents, SOPs, proposals and other deliverables to ensure clarity and consistency.

You'll work closely with engineering, proposals, and business operations, growing your career in technical and engineering communications in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or other relevant writing discipline.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Willingness to work onsite at engineering offices (Spokane, WA; Portland, OR; Boise, ID).
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Publications or writing samples are a plus.
• Experience in technical, engineering, or corporate writing.
• Familiarity with AP style or other formal technical writing standards.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, edits, and proofreads technical documents, job descriptions, proposals, reports, and internal communications for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
• Supports Engineering and Proposals teams with formatting, styling, and version control of written deliverables.
• Maintains and applies document templates and style guides for consistent voice and format across deliverables.
• Assists in development and maintenance of SOPs and internal reference materials.
• Coordinates with subject matter experts across engineering to translate technical content into clear writing.
• Supports layout, formatting, and light graphic coordination for proposals and presentations.
• Proofreads and quality-checks documents prior to distribution or submission.
• Raises document or process issues with the responsible party along with possible solutions.
• Takes personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and professionalism of all written work.
