Job summary

Zohorecruit represents a Detroit-area steel contractor seeking experienced Structural Steel Erectors / Field Installers / Welders for active commercial projects. The role requires hands-on erection, fitting, and welding of structural and miscellaneous steel on site, reading drawings and ensuring precise field workmanship.

Candidates should be comfortable working at heights, operating lifts, and traveling to project locations, with a focus on safety and quality on every installation.

Qualifications

Experience erecting, fitting, connecting, and welding structural and miscellaneous steel.
Ability to read construction drawings and erection plans.
Comfort working at heights on active commercial job sites.
Welding certifications and OSHA training preferred.
Ability to travel locally or regionally as project needs.

Responsibilities

Erect and install structural steel components per drawings.
Install miscellaneous metals like stairs, railings, ladders, platforms.
Perform field welding, fitting and modifications as required by site conditions.
Bolt, connect, align, level, and secure steel during installation.
Coordinate installation activities with field supervision and other trades.
Follow safety procedures and operate lifts/equipment on site.
