Job summary

Zohorecruit represents an established steel contractor in Detroit seeking experienced Structural Steel Erectors / Field Installers / Welders to support commercial field installation projects.

Ideal candidates read structural drawings, erect, fit, connect and weld structural and miscellaneous steel on active construction sites, with travel locally or regionally as needed. OSHA training and welding certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel erection, ironwork or related metals installation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and erection details.
• Comfort working at heights on active commercial sites and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Erect and install structural steel components (beams, columns, channels, angles).
• Install miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, ladders, platforms).
• Perform field welding and fitting per project drawings and site conditions.
• Bolt, align, level and secure steel during installation.
• Read and interpret erection plans and shop drawings.
• Conduct field layout and verify measurements prior to installation.
• Operate lifts and equipment used for steel erection.
• Coordinate with supervision, management and trades on site.
