Job summary

MetroSys, Inc. is seeking an experienced Resident Storage Engineer to provide onsite operational and engineering support for a large storage environment during a NetApp to Pure Storage FlashArray migration.

The role requires strong enterprise storage background, excellent troubleshooting, and collaboration with customer engineering teams in a highly secure setting. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day administration, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and implement recommendations

Qualifications

5+ years of enterprise storage engineering or storage administration experience.
Experience administering Pure Storage FlashArray, NetApp, Dell EMC or HPE.
Strong knowledge of block and file storage, SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel and storage networking.
Experience with storage migrations or technology refresh projects.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.
Active TS/SCI security clearance required and ability to work onsite in a secure environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the onsite technical resource supporting migration from NetApp to Pure Storage FlashArray.
Provide daily storage administration and operational support.
Monitor health, availability, utilization and capacity; identify issues early.
Analyze performance and recommend optimization opportunities.
Support provisioning, volume management, snapshots, replication and capacity planning.
Assist with upgrades, firmware updates, patches and lifecycle management.
Troubleshoot storage hardware and software with vendor coordination.
Contribute to preventive maintenance and health reviews.
Support incident/problem/change management and ticket documentation.
Develop and maintain operational documentation and SOPs.
Provide guidance to customer teams and mentor administrators.
