Job summary

System One, Inc. is hiring a Staff Accountant in Camden, NJ onsite to support payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting across multiple funding sources.

The role includes preparing reports, assisting with budgets for proposals, and coordinating month-end close and audit activities. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting/finance with 5 years in non-profit settings, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with MIP and ADP WorkforceNow payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance.
• Five (5) years minimum experience, preferably in non-profit accounting.
• MIP accounting software and payroll data processing experience preferred.
• Attention to detail a must.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees payroll and must have ability to process bi-weekly payroll using ADP software.
• Prepares payroll memo on a bi-weekly basis and provides to Staff Accountant who enters information into ADP WorkforceNow.
• Payroll processing backup.
• Reports on the status of receivables for all funding sources.
• Assists on the preparation of periodic reports per funding source requirements.
• Assists in the preparation of other fiscal reports as needed.
• Assists in the preparation of budgets for funding proposals.
• Prepares quarterly reports on the results of the audit of Accounts Payable with recommendations and follow-up on unresolved issues.
• Accounts Payable backup
• Reports on the status of receivables for all funding sources.
• Assists with quarterly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly Office on Aging reports Assist with month-end closing
• Assists with all fiscal audits.
• In conjunction with Staff Accountant and Fiscal Assistant responsible for Inventory and maintenance of fixed assets accounts.
• Responsible for Attorney Trust Account.
• Occasional travel is required to other SJLS offices
• Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by Finance Director.
• Maintains a good working relationship with members of the office staff.
