Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license or certification in Special Education.
• Experience teaching students with disabilities in school settings.
• Knowledge of IEPs, laws, and best practices in special education.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with students, families, and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities in collaboration with families and staff.
• Provide specialized instruction in core academics and functional skills, adapting materials to diverse needs.
• Utilize evidence-based teaching practices and assistive technologies to support learning.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with general education staff to provide accommodations in inclusive settings.
• Maintain accurate documentation of progress, IEP meetings, and communications with stakeholders.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review student progress and interventions.
• Support paraprofessionals and other staff working with students.
