Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. seeks an Onsite Service Specialist to support large strategic accounts at the customer facility in San Antonio, TX. You will deliver exceptional service, assist with procurement and order placement, and manage MSC ControlPoint Solutions (Vending, VMI, Crib) to maximize MSC value for customers.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, sourcing strategy, and collaboration with Category Team and account teams to drive savings and satisfaction at the shop floor level.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree preferred.
• 2+ years inbound/outbound telephone sales, outside sales, storeroom or inventory management, or customer service experience required.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Relevant Military experience a plus.
• Metalworking knowledge and experience is a plus but not always required.

Responsibilities

• Excellent Customer Service skills to assist in order placement, quoting, sourcing, and logging of all available Cost Savings Statistics.
• Manages MSC ControlPoint Solutions –Vendor Managed Inventory, Vending, or Storeroom management programs and may require ordering, product put away and optimization.
• Determines optimal sourcing strategy for key customer projects with Category Team support to drive savings and shop floor improvements.
• Participation and engagement in customer plant and/or production meetings and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
• Collaborates with the account team to maximize customer satisfaction and future projects.
• Resolves on-site customer product and service issues by providing sales-related solutions with various information sources.
• Provides customer service per MSC standards to ensure satisfaction, retention and revenue using all tools.
• Communicates customer concerns to management for effective resolution.
• Works with vendors to locate product sources, prepare quotes, expedite orders, and arrange training.
• Fosters MSC culture across department and company to fulfill MSC vision.
• Performs additional duties as required.
