Job summary

Waabi is seeking an on-site Senior IT Engineer in Lancaster, TX to support ramped-up Texas operations. You will design and manage high-performance networks, compute and storage clusters, and provide essential on-vehicle technical assistance to engineering teams.

Responsibilities include automating deployments (Ansible, Terraform), securing infrastructures, incident response, and collaboration with Infrastructure, Compute, Support and Hardware teams across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with a customer service mindset.
• Experience building high performance compute clusters.
• Experience developing and scaling highly available storage clusters.
• Experience with container orchestration
• Experience working with multiple cloud providers AWS, GCP, Azure etc.
• Open-minded and collaborative team player with the willingness to take ownership.
• Proven experience establishing and automating IT processes.
• Proven experience setting up multi-site, high throughput, scalable networks.
• Experience managing hybrid device environments (Mac, Windows, Linux).

Responsibilities

• Design and expand high‑performance networks, computing, and storage.
• Lead security initiatives and ensure compliance with standards.
• Oversee incident response planning and execution.
• Manage a fleet of Linux servers: deployment, maintenance, upgrades.
• Automate deployments with Ansible, Terraform, etc.
• Document Network and Server infrastructure meticulously.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Compute, Support and Hardware teams.
• Coordinate with facilities to ensure HVAC, cabling, UPS.
• Continuously seek automation and system improvements.
• Perform onsite physical tasks; lift up to 50 pounds.
