Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the Construction Quality Assurance on a major mine reclamation project in northern New Mexico. This full-time onsite role emphasizes safety leadership, technical QC, and coordination with the contractor, EOR, and client to keep field work flowing.

Candidates should bring 12+ years in civil/geotechnical projects with CQA leadership, and be comfortable using Trimble, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD, and related QA/QC tools on a rugged high-altitude site.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, or Environmental engineering.
• 12+ years in civil/geotechnical projects with 5+ years in a CQA leadership role.
• Experience administering digital QA/QC systems and owner/engineer-delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the onsite safety program in compliance with Stantec and the client’s safety requirements.
• Serve as Stantec’s senior onsite representative for day-to-day CQA execution and technical quality of work.
• Manage the Stantec onsite team and coordinate with offsite Project Manager, CQA Lead, and CQA Administrator.
• Administer the Quality Management System on the ArcGIS Online platform, including workflows and data exports.
• Coordinate with the Construction Contractor on day-to-day execution and issue resolution; lead meetings.
• Interface with the EOR in weekly coordination meetings and site walks; document deficiencies and actions.
• Coordinate with Client representatives onsite; provide routine status updates and escalate issues.
• Participate in EPA and State agency site visits as needed.
• Own non-compliance, RFI, submittal, and variance workflows and drive closure.
• Direct independent verification of constructed features and ensure tolerances and specs are met.
• Provide technical leadership for survey verification, material sampling, and field testing (Trimble GPS, photogrammetry, density gauge, XRF).
• Work with geotechnical instrumentation on slope stability and piezometer installation.
