Job summary

Stantec is seeking a safety-focused QA/QC Engineering Technician to oversee construction quality control on a mine remediation project near Spokane, Washington. This on-site leadership role requires directing a field team, ensuring work meets design specifications, and coordinating with the client and contractors.

Strong written communication, field data review, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant program with surveying skills, or equivalent experience.
• 4–8 years of field experience on environmental, civil, or geotechnical projects.
• Strong writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional technical leadership abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in the field at remote sites.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage QA/QC field team activities and documentation.
• Perform field observations, sample collection, and field testing as required.
• Review technical memoranda, RFIs, and as‑built reports.
• Coordinate with client management, engineering staff, and field personnel.
• Plan, direct, and execute field engineering and CQA activities.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure compliance with guidelines and policies.
