Job summary

Brunel is seeking a QA/QC Lead to ensure construction and project activities meet Client quality requirements, design specs, codes, and regulatory standards on site. You will work with the Client’s Project Team, coordinating with construction management, EPC/EPCM teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.

Key responsibilities include implementing the site QA/QC Management System, coordinating inspections, NDT, audits, NCRs, and handover documentation, while guiding the site team in quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline with QA/QC experience.
• High School Diploma/GED with QA/QC experience acceptable.

Job description

The QA/QC Lead will be responsible for ensuring that construction and project activities meet the Client’s quality requirements, design specifications, applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Working as part of the Client’s Project Team, this position will provide site-based quality leadership and coordinate closely with construction management, EPC/EPCM teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the overall site QA/QC Management System and Quality Control Plan.
• Ensure all site activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, standards, and Client requirements.
• Coordinate quality activities with the Client’s Construction Field Superintendents, project management team, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Distribute relevant QA/QC procedures and documentation to contractors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate and participate in quality inspections, field walkdowns, and construction quality reviews.
• Coordinate all required on-site Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
• Manage inspection documentation, QA/QC records, photographs, and supporting quality documentation.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits and ensure findings are properly addressed and closed out.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and remedial activities through completion.
• Monitor implementation and compliance with the approved Site Quality Control Plan.
• Review project specifications, quality requirements, technical documents, and contract requirements.
• Provide quality-related guidance and training to the site project team where required.
• Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of QA/QC technical submittals.
• Coordinate Test Pack preparation and final handover documentation.
• Ensure all QA/QC documentation is complete and properly compiled for final as-built project handover and electronic document storage.
• Chair weekly QA/QC meetings with project contractors and subcontractor QC personnel.
• Maintain current and accurate technical documentation relating to site quality.
• Report quality issues, risks, NCRs, and corrective actions to the Site Construction Manager and Client Project Management Team.
• Support the development and tracking of quality KPIs and site performance metrics.
• Ensure all QA/QC activities are completed in accordance with site health and safety requirements.
• Perform additional project duties as required.

Candidates should meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of QA/QC experience, or
• High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of QA/QC experience.

In addition, candidates should have:

• Minimum 4 years of experience supporting or managing QA/QC activities on large-value EPC projects, preferably on major onshore construction projects.
• Experience working within mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, petrochemical, heavy industrial, or similar large capital project environments.
• Strong experience developing, implementing, and reviewing Project Quality Plans.
• Experience reviewing contract documents, engineering specifications, drawings, and project quality requirements.
• Experience coordinating inspections, Test Packs, turnover packages, and final handover documentation.
• Experience conducting or supporting QMS internal and external audits.
• Strong knowledge of managing inspection findings, NCRs, corrective actions, and audit closeout.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Client, EPC/EPCM, contractor, subcontractor, and vendor teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on mega projects valued at $1 billion+.
• Experience on major mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial capital projects.
• Previous EPC/EPCM project experience, particularly in field-based quality leadership positions.
• Experience establishing quality KPIs and monitoring performance throughout construction.
• Broad field experience across multiple construction disciplines.
• Strong understanding of construction quality, inspection, testing, turnover, commissioning interfaces, and final project handover.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an integrated Client, EPC/EPCM, and Contractor project team.
