Job summary

META Solutions (Metropolitan Educational Technology Association) is seeking a Contracted Field Technician to maintain devices across the district’s LAN and manage district inventory and work records of repairs. Onsite support is provided to Pickerington Local School District in Ohio.

Responsibilities include LAN installation/maintenance, hardware support (PC/Apple, printers), proactive problem solving, and documenting parts and service activities. Travel to customer locations is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of business, education and experience
• Expertise in hardware used in districts including PC and/or Apple, printers and other devices within district LAN
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers
• Ability to employ independent judgment and initiative
• Attend and actively participate in required trainings, meetings and responsibilities
• Provide quality service to internal and external colleagues and customers
• Prepare an annual professional development plan linked to META goals
• Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior

Responsibilities

• Assist in LAN installation and maintenance
• Maintains proficiency in META supported technology
• Provides support in solving problems and answering questions regarding district technology operations and procedures
• Work with district representative to maintain parts inventory and documentation
• Keep a cooperative relationship and open communication with META staff and those in similar positions in districts and other IT centers
• Travel to customer locations and off-site training is required
• Other activities as deemed by META Executive Director or district administration
• Prioritize tasks, requirements and expectations to perform at a standard of excellence in service
