Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking an experienced Specialist, Training and Development to lead the Hawthorne, NV contract safety program on site. You will oversee safety policy, inspections, investigations, and training to reduce risk and ensure compliant performance.

You will coordinate with senior leaders, government representatives, and HR to maintain safety standards and deliver effective safety training across depot operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Management, or related field; equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of progressive safety, health, industrial safety, explosives safety, ammunition operations safety, compliance, or related experience, including inspections, investigations, and training; 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safety and health program for the Hawthorne, NV contract, coordinating ISO 45001 activities and ensuring compliance with OSHA, DoD, and other requirements.
• Manage safety resources and provide oversight to ensure inspections, investigations, reporting, and corrective actions are completed on schedule.
• Conduct, coordinate, and document safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and follow up on corrective actions.
