Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to develop, administer, and evaluate health programs at Hawthorne Army Depot. The role focuses on exposure monitoring, regulatory compliance, and technical guidance to protect workers from health hazards on site.

Responsibilities include monitoring, evaluating risks, coordinating HAZMAT response, and maintaining procedures for PPE and sampling protocols. On-site work in Hawthorne, NV with DoD and OSHA-aligned standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED and an Associate degree in a technical, occupational health, safety, environmental, science, or related field required.
• 2+ years of industrial hygiene, occupational health.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Industrial Hygiene program, including lead, asbestos, ergonomic, exposure monitoring, hearing conservation support, and related programs.
• Evaluate workplace health hazards via inspections, records review, and monitoring; interpret results and recommend controls.
• Establish training, equipment, and coordination for HAZMAT response with site safety and leadership.
• Develop and maintain procedures, manuals, exposure-control requirements, PPE standards, and communications.
• Maintain health-related monitoring programs, including wastewater sampling protocols with site partners.
• perform audits, data analysis, and corrective-action tracking to support compliance and improvement.
