Job summary

Atoms is seeking a Safety Operations lead to stand up scalable safety machinery for fleets of autonomous vehicles. You will own end-to-end incident management, triage, training, and safety data reporting, while partnering with the Head of Safety to feed hazard analysis and product changes.

The role demands 6-8+ years in safety operations, hands-on investigations, and data-driven decision making, with on-site work in San Francisco. Candidates should be prepared for on-call incidents.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years in safety operations or related safety domain.
• Experience leading incident investigations to root cause and driving corrective actions.
• Fluency with structured investigation and risk methods and judgement to apply them.

Responsibilities

• Incident management: end-to-end response including detection, notification, severity, containment, investigation, corrective action, closure.
• Event triage: build pipeline from telemetry and reports to a ranked, actionable queue; manage taxonomy and severity.
• Training and qualification: design training programs for safety drivers and operators; manage records.
• Safety data and reporting: define metrics and cadence; ensure records withstand scrutiny.
• Feedback into engineering: translate field reality into hazard analysis and changes.
