Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager for an onsite role in Berwick, PA. This role requires relocation or commuting five days a week to manage safety operations across multiple projects.

The candidate will lead the Safety Department, conduct inspections, train staff, and ensure compliance with OSHA and client regulations. Strong communication, independence, and crisis response readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred.
• CHST, CSP, or equivalent professional safety designation.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification for construction; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Berwick, PA five days per week.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to assess and prioritize multiple needs and demands.
• Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct report workloads based on project volume and staffing needs.
• Conduct regular check-ins and yearly performance evaluations for all direct reports.
• Train and support Safety Department members as needed.
• Lead OSHA or third-party safety inspections independently.
• Develop and deliver safety toolbox meetings and project orientations.
• Evaluate project safety policies and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Mentor Site Operations in safety inspection processes and hazard identification.
• Collaborate with project teams to address safety needs across multiple projects.

Education

Bachelor's degree in safety or related field
