Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager to support project teams with safety condition management and inspections. This role requires working from project sites and collaborating closely with the Safety Manager and Site Operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of safety experience, OSHA 30, and a four-year degree or equivalent experience. The position includes growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years safety experience.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in construction, engineering, or business; alternatives accepted with experience.
• OSHA 30 certificate required; CSP/ASP/CHST or similar preferred.
• First Aid AED/CPR certification a plus.
• Experience with a general contractor is advantageous.
• Proficient documentation, record keeping, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site safety inspections using the company safety system.
• Evaluate compliance with federal, state, local, and client safety rules.
• Assess subcontractor safety performance on projects.
• Lead toolbox talks and on-site safety training.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses and site safety plans.
• Assist in safety orientations and project documentation reviews.
• Participate in safety meetings with project teams.
